Ngugi wa Thiong'o

Sequel to Ngugi Wa Thiong’o’ Dreams in a Time of War: A Childhood Memoir imminent

A sequel to Dreams in a Time of War: A Childhood Memoir which was written by Kenya’s most famous literary son Ngugi Wa Thiong’o is imminent.

Dreams launched in 2010 and was received quite well. Dauti Kahura writing in The Star described the new book as one from a master storyteller giving a history lesson Peter Kimani writing in The Standard stated that Ngugi presented, in a manner both eloquent and honest, the human side to his story. That is very high praise from the local media establishment. Add to that the international media did their bit reviewing it from all parts of the world with the easiest to google being The Washington Post, The guardian, and The Independent.

The book was about the legendary author’s childhood in rural Kenya during colonial times. Well a source, yes we have those here on this blog, that the second version of the book is imminent. This new book will talk about his experience as a teenager. The book is ready and should be on the market anytime soon. We shall keep you posted as and when it comes out.

A book about the man’s teen years… A Burt Award for 2014 perhaps?
