Storyteller Wangari The Storyteller (real name Grace Wangari) will mark her 20th anniversary in 2026 with the “Hadithi on the Move Tour,” a storytelling journey across 20 counties in Kenya.
Since beginning her career as an actor in 2006, Wangari has become a leading figure in performance storytelling, known for creating intimate, dynamic shows that blend narrative with song, dance, and chants. Her work has been featured on platforms across Kenya and internationally in countries including India, Germany, Sweden, Tanzania, and Somaliland. She is also the author of several children’s books, such as The Forever Tree (Mti wa Milele), Mama’s Big Bag, and The Colour Magician. Read more about her here.
To celebrate this two-decade milestone, she has announced a full year of artistic activities. She is now inviting collaborations from a wide range of partners.
She asks: Are you a school—from Early Years to High School—that believes your learners would benefit from a booking? Are you an educator teaching arts, performance, or communication who would welcome a resource person? Do you run a library, bookshop, or community centre interested in hosting a storytelling program or “Meet The Author” session? Or are you an organisation with interests in education, culture, and the arts that would like to partner?
