Festival Fim do Caminho which is a festival of film and literature was hosted in Mozambique from November 17-27, 2017.
Festival Fim do Caminho is an annual film and literature festival in Nampula City and the coastal districts of Mozambique Island and Mossuril which started happening in 2013.
This year more than 3,000 people attended literary events, film screenings, masterclass film workshops, a Kids Zone, upcycling and off-grid electricity capacity building events as part of the 4th edition of Festival Fim do Caminho in northern Mozambique. For the first time this year the festival also took film and literature to Lichinga, the northernmost Mozambican city, for two days on November 19th and 20th.
The festival kicked off in Nampula with a masterclass film workshop for local filmmakers, led by up-and-coming Mozambican cineaste Orlando Mabasso. The resulting film ‘O Empregado’ (The Employee), is set for release in late 2017. Check out the trailer below.

Mozambican writers Paulina Chiziane, Lucilio Manjate and Eduardo Quive continued the events in Nampula, with talks and readings in the provincial library, followed by a workshop with students at the Lotus EPC primary school.
The festival then returned to its founding base, the coastal district of Mossuril, for film screenings, training events and a first-ever Kids Zone for young children.
