Abantu Book Festival, Gaborone Book Festival, and Pa Gya! Literary Festival have announced the dates they will happen in three different African cities across Africa.
We keenly follow the events happening across the continent whether small or big here at JamesMurua.com. The small events are book launches or readings and the larger ones are literary festivals and/or book fairs. For the latter, we have a dedicated page where we regularly update the happenings in African literary festivals. This is one of our unique contributions to the writing community. You can see this year’s calendar of events across the continent, we are unabashedly Pan African, for those who plan on seeing your favourite writers, poets, and other literary personalities.
In the last week or so, several teams have announced the dates for their festivals this year. These include;
- Abantu Book Festival 2020, Soweto, South Africa – December 3-6, 2020.

This year, the festival will be happening in its traditional Soweto home from December 3-6, 2020. The announcement was made on February 13, 2020.
