The African Book Festival Berlin 2025 has invited African-based book clubs to the German capital from July 18 – 20, 2025.
The leading African writers, poets, and thinkers on the continent and in the diaspora have converged on Berlin, Germany for the African Book Festival since the first edition in 2018. It has quietly become one of the most anticipated literary shindigs centering African narratives in Europe.
The 2025 edition curated by Ivana Akotowaa Ofori has a programme of readings, discussions, music, and poetry performances. The festival has invited book clubs based on the African continent to attend the festivities at Alte Münze near Alexanderplatz in July. If the idea of spending a literary summer in Berlin appeals to you, you are offered;

- Assistance with finding accommodation in Berlin
- Meet-ups with Berlin-based book clubs
Your book club needs to be on the African Continent, older than 6 months old, active, and consists of at least 5 members or more, and interested in reading literature by African authors.
