The longlist for the Aminiya-Trust Short Story Writing Contest 2020 was announced today, October 9, 2020.
The Aminiya-Trust short story writing contest was founded to provide a space for stories in Hausa language an outlet where they can be spread and enjoyed by a wider audience. The theme of the 2020 short story writing contest, Democracy and political development in Nigeria, aims at exposing the tribulations faced by Nigerians within the realm of politics and democracy. The competition is supported by an alliance of Aminiya-Trust, Gandun Kalmomi, and Open Arts Development Foundation.
From the 268 submissions, the 20 writers longlisted for the maiden Aminiya-Trust Hausa Short Story Writing Competition are;

The finalists will be edited and published into a collection in November 2020 and the results of the contest will be released in December 2020.
The next stage of the judging process will produce the 15 finalists for the competition by a group of 3 final judges who will select the 3 final winners. An award ceremony, which will double as the book launch will be held on 2nd January 2021 in Kaduna where the prize money and certificates will be issued.
