The guests who will feature at the Asmara-Addis Literary Festival (In Exile) 2020, in Brussels, Belgium on February 27-28, were announced on January 14, 2020.
On February 9, 2019, the Asmara-Addis Literary Festival (In Exile) made a splash in the Belgian city of Brussels. The festival was founded by novelist Sulaiman Addonia who is well known for his Commonwealth Writers’ Prize-shortlisted The Consequences of Love (2008) and Silence is My Mother Tongue (2018). It was attended by among others Maaza Mengiste, Minna Salami, Nadifa Mohamed, Chike Frankie Edozien, Saleh Addonia, Soheila Mehri, and Ellah Wakatama Allfrey.
Festival founder Addonia announced the dates and guest for this year’s edition earlier in the month with events happening on February 27-18. Some of the guests that Brussels residents get to see this year are Molara Wood, Hannah Azieb Pool, Maaza Mengiste, Amina Jama, Vittorio Longhi, Magdalene Abraha, Kalaf Epalanga, Mariama Jalloh, Sumia Jama, and Alycia Pimohamed.
