Black British Book Festival 2025 for Manchester

The Black British Book Festival 2025 will be hosted in the Northern city of Manchester, United Kingdom on Saturday, March 29, 2025.

The Black British Book Festival brings together a vibrant mix of authors, readers, publishers, and book lovers across the UK, celebrating Black British literature since 2021. The event celebrating and highlighting black authors across all genres of literature in the United Kingdom has hosted some of the leading names in the publishing ecosystem in the UK. It has featured book launches and readings, panel discussions, poetry readings, masterclasses, workshops, and more. With follow-up editions in 2022, 2023, and 2024, it now considers itself “Europe’s largest Black literature festival.”

The festival with inspiring panels on cultural and literary themes, live readings by acclaimed authors, creative workshops to inspire storytelling, a lively Black Book marketplace showcasing books by emerging and established Black authors, and a dedicated Children’s Zone with interactive activities for young readers returns to Manchester on Saturday, March 29. The events with Pan Macmillan as headline sponsor will be hosted at the Manchester Central Library.

Invited speakers and performers will include Jackie Kay, Abi Dare, Joseph Coelho, Kehinde Andrews, T.L. Huchu, Zeinab Badawi, Kelechi Okafor, Kadija George, Temi Oh, Atinuke, Peace Adzo Medie, Chibundu Onuzo, Ayaan Mohamud, Caleb Femi, Davina Tijani, Dawn Butler, Jeffrey Boakye, Anyika Onuora, Ola Awonubi, Yomi Sode, Dean Atta, Derek Owusu, Diane Abbott, Diane Ewen, Franklyn Addo, Nadine White, Lola Jaye, Krystle Zara Appiah, Ore Agbaje-Williams, Patrice Lawrence, Paul C. Brunson, Shakaila Forbes-Bell, Shani Akilah, and Louise Hare.
