Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is the latest author to sign with new outfit Narrative Landscape Press giving them the Nigerian rights to most of her books.
In December, we introduced our readers to the new publishing outfit Narrative Landscape Press run by Eghosa Imasuen and Anwuli Ojogwu. The outfit has pulled off what is probably one of the biggest coups in Nigerian publishing signing arguably the biggest name in African writing today. They have acquired the rights to the Nigerian editions of bestselling and award-winning author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s books. They will be publishing special collector’s editions of Ms Adichie’s body of work, beginning with Purple Hibiscus and continuing through Half of a Yellow Sun and Americanah, and her non-fiction books, We Should All Be Feminists and Dear Ijeawele.
The new editions of Ms Adichie’s books and novels will be released to the public in April of 2018 and will be available for purchase as complete sets. The cover designs, which inspire familiar feelings of home, of nostalgia, and elegance, were designed in collaboration with VLISCO, who provided the cover art.
In a statement making the announcement, the publishing outfit said;
We, at Narrative Landscape Press, have built a reputation for excellence in our publishing services business, and with this foray into traditional publishing, we are very excited by the possibilities of working with Ms Adichie on these titles and her future books.
The organisation also stated that they will be looking out for new work from the wider African literary community.
We also use this opportunity to announce that our submission’s desk is open for entries twice a year. We will be accepting manuscripts in March-April and September-October of every year, and are looking for the kind of writing that conforms to our motto: Our stories, our way.
So dust off those manuscript and send them off. You might just end up being stablemates with Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
