Conferência O Livro Em Moçambique Cadeia De Valores will be held in Maputo, Mozambique from February 12 – 13, 2025.

The Centro Cultural Franco-Moçambicano (English: Franco-Mozambican Cultural Center) will be hosting Conferência O Livro Em Moçambique Cadeia De Valores (English: The Book in Mozambique – Value Chain Conference) starting today. It will look not just at the book as the product but at the whole ecosystem around it starting with the writer/author to the editor, the proofreader, the designer, the publisher, the distributor, the bookseller, the literary agent, the cultural programmer/producer, the critic, the cultural journalist, the animators, the reading promoters, the librarians, the printing industry, and the cultural managers.

The conference will discuss sustainable economic models for the Mozambican publishing sector, promote the sharing of good practices, and stimulate collaboration between different actors. There will be decorated industry professionals like publishers, writers, translators, educators, festival organisers, and booksellers from Mozambique, France, and Portugal. They will engage in conversations on logistics and distribution, education and awareness of reading culture while making presentations of case studies of what has been working in the market.

Some of the guests will be Pedro Pereira Lopes, Dany Wambire, Anne Lima, Sandra Tamele, Tito Couto, Paulo Guerreiro, Eduardo Quive, Susana Damasceno, Ana Albasini, Constance Fleury de la Ruelle, and Mélio Tinga.
