Copper Monstera’s Women & Money anthology

Copper Monstera anthology writers announced

The writers who will feature in Copper Monstera’s Women & Money anthology were announced on Sunday, November 24, 2024.

Copper Monstera refers to a Monstera plant displayed on or supported by a copper plant stand or other copper accessory. In Zambia, it relates to a publishing and entertainment brand focused on growing the Southern African country’s literary space founded in 2023. The organisation has already published Natasha Omokhodion’s second novel Even If The Stars Should Fall.

In April, the Lusaka-based organisation announced they would publish a new anthology titled “Women & Money.” On Sunday, they announced that after going through the numerous submissions, they have chosen those who will feature in the new anthology.

“Copper Monstera is thrilled to announce the writers of our upcoming Women & Money anthology. Each story was selected for its ability to make us laugh, cry, keep us in knee-knocking suspense, or just outright surprise us. The talent in Zambia is phenomenal – and we aim to amplify these deserving creatives through this project.” they said in a statement.

The writers and stories who will feature in the upcoming project are;

  • Starting From Scratch, Kutemba Mwenda
  • A Woman’s Share, Musonda Mukuka
  • A Pinch of Sugar, Thandiwe Chisala Chibale
  • The Baby Boomer, Natasha Ngulube
  • The Boy in The Red Car, Nchimunya Maikah
  • The Mysterious Marketeer, Thomas Chisengantambu
  • The Street Hustler, Immaculate Sikanyika
  • Writing For Her, Musonda Nsakanya
  • Yasano, Bwalya S Kondwani
  • Gold Dust Woman, Sharon Mutanga
  • The Grifters, Mwinji Siame
  • Numbers, Mukandi Siame

The project will now go into production with a publication expected in 2025.
