Writers Project of Ghana is an organisation based in Ghana, duh, and the US which aims at promoting Ghanaian literature and writing through creative writing workshops, discussion groups, public readings, and publishing.

The featured author for July at a reading at the Goethe-Institut Accra is a Ghanaian writer and academic Dr Mawuli Adjei. Adzei who writes under the pen name Mawuli Adzei is the author of the poetry collection Testament of the Seasons (2012), and the novels The Jewel of Kabibi (2011), Taboo (2012), and most recently, The Witch of Lagbati (2015).

While not doing the writing daktari is a senior lecturer at the Department of English at the University of Ghana, Legon, where he teaches African and Postcolonial Literature, Literary Criticism, Creative Writing, and other courses.
