Éric Ntumba wins Prix Littéraire Makomi 2020

Éric Ntumba is Prix Littéraire Makomi 2020 winner.

Éric Ntumba was announced the winner of the Prix Littéraire Makomi 2020 at the closing ceremony of the Fete Du Livre De Kinshasa 2020 in Kinshasa, DR Congo on February 22, 2020.

The Prix Littéraire Makomi Prize was created by the Pôle Eunic-RDC in order to promote the Congolese literary sector and to bring out new talents. It is organized annually as part of the Fete Du Livre De Kinshasa with support from the Delegation of the European Union in the DRC.

Selecting the winners this year was a team of readers from the European Union delegation and another from telecom company Orange RDC. This team announced the winner of the third edition of the prize as Erick Ntumba for his book Une vie après le Styx. He won the prize money of 2,000 Euros.

Also being recognised were Jeunesse insoumise Youth rebellious by Jonathan Kapinga which got a special mention” as well as university professor Eddie Tambwe’s Ally Foreman, Le Combat De La Jungle and Maguy Bizwazwa’s Requiem pour Andali. Jean Bofane won the honorary diploma of the Prix Makomi Prize 2020.
