Festival Littératures Itinérantes 2024, with the theme “Literature and Memory,” will be hosted in Rabat, Morocco on Saturday, October 5, 2024.
Festival Littératures Itinerants (English: Traveling Literature Festival) was first hosted in the Moroccan town of Salé in 2017. Since then, the festival which attracts audiences of between 10,000 and 12,000 has moved around Morocco to Casablanca in 2018, Marrakech in 2019, Fez in 2022, and Tangier in 2023. For 2024, the sixth edition, will be hosted in the nation’s capital of Rabat with the theme “Littérature et Mémoire” (English: Literature and Memory).

The writers in the program come from Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Palestine, Egypt, Senegal, Haiti, Lebanon, Canada, the United States, Cote d’Ivoire, Congo, Chad, Switzerland, Belgium, and Oman. They include Laila Lalami, Jennifer Richard, Dibakana Mankessi, Ghita el Khayat, Mi Hyun Cro, Loubna Serraj, Cécile Ladjali, Jokha El Harti, Fatma Bouvet, Iman Bosmalah, Amina Achour, Marielle Anselmo, Nadia Hathrouhi, Diane Régimbald, Georgia Makhlouf, Yasmine Chami, Tanella Boni, Denise Desautels, Leila Babstin, Yasmina Jaafar, Meryem Alaoui, Tadd Hilal, Ashraf al-Ashmawi, Nicolas Fargues, Gilles Lewy, Mohamed Achaari, Selim Nasaib, Laurent Gaudé, Abdelakder Chaoui, Jean-Aimé Dibakana, Nincemon Fallé, Jamal Moussaoui, Hassan el Ouazzani, Philomé Robert, Eric Chacour, Charif Majdali, Nimrod Bena, Mael Renouard, Khalid Lyamlahy, Mostafa Annoui, and Khalil Diallo.
On October 7, there will be a caravan of female writers in Marrakech on October 7 and 8, Essaouira on October 9 and 10, and Agadir on October 11 and 12. The featured writers in this endeavour will be Georgia Makhlouf (Lebanon/France), Tanella Boni (Cote D’Ivoire), Diane Régimbald (Canada), Fatma Bouvet (Algeria/France), Marielle Anselmo (France), Laure Mi Hyun Croset (Korea/Switzerland), Denise Desautels (Canada), and Nadia Essalmi (Morocco).
