Grand Prix du Roman Métis 2024 finalists announced

Grand Prix du Roman Métis 2024 finalists were announced in Saint-Denis, Reunion on Thursday, October 17, 2024.

Grand Prix du Roman Métis is an international literary prize awarded annually by the city of Saint-Denis in Reunion since 2010. It rewards a French-language novel highlighting the values ​​of cross-breeding, diversity, and humanism. In 2011, they started the lecteurs (readers) novel prize, covering four titles from the Grand Prix selection, whose jury comprises two high school students per participating establishment, from the Réunion Academy and Madagascar (since 2015). Some of the previous winners have been Maryse Conde, Lyonel Trouillot, Tierno Monénembo, Léonora Miano, Mohamed Mbougar Sarr, Gaëlle Bélem, and Ananda Devi.

On October 1, the 2024 judging panel of the Grand Prix du Roman Métis of professionals from the world of books and the 2023 winners met to deliberate on the finalists. The jury includes Xavier Leclerc (president), Philippe Vallée (general secretary), Mohammed Aïssaoui, Sonia Bardinot, Leïla Bouherrafa, Marie-Claude Derby, Michel Éthève, Katia Leloutre, Yannick Lepoan, and Valérie Magdelaine. They announced the four finalists in both categories in a press conference on October 17, 2024, at the François Mitterrand Media Library in Saint-Denis. They include;
