Grand Prix Littéraire du Bénin 2023 winners announced.

Florent Codjo Houndjo’s play Dans les Limbes won Grand Prix Littéraire du Bénin 2023 in Cotonou, Benin on Friday, November 3, 2023.   

Grand Prix Littéraire du Bénin was created by the Benin Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and the Arts to highlight the diversity of national literary creation; to discover and promote Beninese writers and their works; encourage professionalism among national publishers; identify, stimulate, and promote young literary talents and finally promote the positioning of Benin on the African and world literary scene. The winner of the award in 2022 was Raouf Mama.

The winners of this year’s award were revealed last Friday and the following won in their categories;

• Grand Prix Littéraire du Bénin 2023: Florent Codjo Houndjo’s play Dans les Limbes
• Editors Prize: publishing house Christon Éditions  
• Literary Chronicler (Journalist): Teddy Gandigbe
