The Guinness World Record for continuous storytelling was made at the Marrakech International Storytelling Festival 2025 from January 21 – 24, 2025.
The Marrakech International Storytelling Festival is a free, open-access event that celebrates the art of storytelling. Founded by Mike and Lucie Wood and first hosted in 2021, it takes place in public spaces, museums, and cultural institutions in the Marrakech-Safi region of Morocco. It is funded by the Moroccan Ministry of Culture to promote the art of storytelling locally and globally and foster collaboration between Moroccan and international storytelling artists.

For 2025, the festival attempted a Guinness world record for continuous storytelling and called on storytellers to the Jama El Fnaa Plaza in the heart of Marrakech’s old Medina. They succeeded as 106 storytellers from 33 countries, 21 mother tongues, 230 workshops in state schools over 5,000 children storytold continuously for 80 hours and 35 minutes. The record-breaking event confirmed by the team at the Guinness World Record happened from January 21 – 24.
