Ibadan Poetry Foundation Residency 2016 shortlist announced

Ibadan Poetry Foundation has announced its shortlist for the Ibadan Poetry Foundation Residency 2016.

Ibadan Poetry Foundation is an independent literary organisation. It is committed to inspiring, creating opportunities and promoting poetry in Nigerian culture.

The relatively new organisation’s most standout its mentorship and residency programme targeted at poets who want to improve their craft. It takes place first through email exchanges for a period of 8 weeks and it will culminate in a physical residency afterwards, for one month.

The foundation announced the 13 poets have been accepted for the first IBPF mentorship/residency programme.

The mentorship programme will offer an opportunity for established poets to guide and mentor emerging poets into the next phase of their artistic practice.

The selected writers will be paired with mentors for 6 weeks and based on performance and mentor selection, some of the mentees would move on to the next phase which is a residency in Ibadan, Oyo State.
