The guests for the Internationales Literaturfestival Berlin, partly curated by Helon Habila, which runs from September 5 – 14, 2024 have been announced.
The Internationales Literaturfestival Berlin (English: International Literature Festival Berlin) was founded by Ulrich Schreiber who directed it until 2023 when Lavinia Frey replaced him. Its broad stylistic and thematic spectrum brings literary wealth to Berlin, Germany with prose, poetry, nonfiction, graphic novels, and children’s and young adult books.
For 2024, organisers collaborated with Curator in Residence Helon Habila who was responsible for events and invitations and would work together with the festival director and the team to develop a guiding theme.
The fruits of their labour are about to be harvested as writers of African descent who address themes ranging from nonfiction writing, diaspora, and Africanfuturism head to the German city to share their insights. Making a showing in Berlin speaking either on their books or on their passions at the Habila curated sessions will be;
