Iris Mwanza’s debut novel Lion’s Den launched at the Africa Centre, London, UK on Friday, June 14, 2024. Here are some images from the launch.
Iris Mwanza is a Zambian-American professional who recently wrote the Canongate-published novel The Lion’s Den. The debut follows rookie lawyer Grace Zulu whose first client Willbess ‘Bessy’ Mulenga goes missing in 1990s Zambia. It is a moving story of prejudice, corruption, injustice, courage, and solidarity that shows us that no cause is ever a lost one.
The novel launched at an event that featured a conversation on the book, a reading, and a signing of books moderated by Ellah Wakatama. There was a massive show of support from the African community with Anni Domingo, Troy Onyango, Rudo Manyere, and many others attending.
