The guests who will feature at the Kaduna Book & Arts Festival 2022 in Kaduna, Nigeria from May 1 – 4, 2024 have been announced.
The Nigerian state of Kaduna introduced the Kaduna Book & Arts Festival to its cultural calendar as part of its centenary celebrations in 2017. Headlined by award-winning author Leila Aboulela, it featured over 50 writers, artists, actors, poets, and performers who shared their work with enthusiastic crowds. The success of that edition, organised by the Book Buzz Foundation, saw it run in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2022.
The 2024 edition of the prize is set to be hosted yet again and organisers are currently revealing those who will be guests. They are writers, poets, musicians, actors, academics, climate activists, cartoonists, journalists, photographers, and many other professionals. They include Helon Habila, Abubakar Adam Ibrahim, Abdulkareem Baba Aminu, Abdulhaleem Ishaq Ringim, Ruona Meyer, Saddiq Dzukogi, Bisi Adjapon, Joseph O. Ike, Aisha Augie, Moyosolaoluwa Olowokure, Sumayya Jaeh, Amyn Bawa-Allah (lipglossmaffia), Omotoke Solarin-Sodara, Ado Ahmad Gidan Dabino, Nabilah Usman, Abduljalal Musa Aliyu, Sanusi Ismaila, Khadija Yusra Sanusi, Sani Muhammad, Isaac Matui Thomas, Naja’atu Garba Ahmed, A’aron John, Chelsea Eze, Dr Aishatu Yusha’u Armiyau, Segun Arinze, Maryam Laushi, Murtala Abdullahi, Joan Bishio, Surayya Aminu, Abubakar Evuti, Kadaria Ahmed, and many others.
