Lolwe

Lolwe is an online literary magazine that publishes fiction, literary criticism, personal essays, photography, and poetry. The latest issue, which is the fifth, is guest-edited by Zambian writer Mali Kambandu, the US poet Willie Lee Kinard III, and the Lisbon-based Bissau-Guinean writer Yovanka Paquete Perdigão. The cover image for the issue is by Senegalese photographers Alex & Frans Odicky.

The issue features fiction by A. K. Herman (Trinidad and Tobago), Theophilus Sokuma (Nigeria), Caroline Okello (Kenya), Jedidah Mugarura (Uganda), Nana Afadua Ofori-Atta (Ghana), Shanette Monrose (Saint Lucia). Poetry by Faatimah Solomon (Sudan), Nnadi Samuel (Nigeria), Alicia Valasse-Polius (Saint Lucia), Hollis Druhet (USA), Celia Sorhaindo (Dominica). Essays by Eric Otieno Sumba (Kenya), Rabhelani Mguni (Zimbabwe), Aida Muturia (Kenya), Rod Martinez (USA), Shalom Esene (Nigeria). Photography by Maroula Blades (UK), Kreative Kwame (Cameroon).

Transition

Transition is a unique forum for the freshest, most compelling ideas from and about the black world. Since its founding in Uganda in 1961, the magazine has kept apace of the rapid transformation of the African Diaspora and has remained a leading forum of intellectual debate.

Guest-edited by long-time editorial board chairman and Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka, alongside scholar Alessandra Di Maio, Transition Magazine’s groundbreaking 60th-anniversary issue 132: The Black in the Mediterranean Blue is here.

PREE

PREE Issue 8

PREE is an online magazine for new contemporary writing from and about the Caribbean. They publish original works of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, essays, interviews and experimental writing, giving their authors international visibility far beyond the islands.

The current issue, which is the 8th, goes with the title, “Writing The Wrongs” and has been edited by Annie Paul. Some of the contributors are Marlon James, Shalini Puri, Sonia Williams, Demoy Lindo, Ronaldo Mohammed, Ubaldimir Guerra, Corinne Binnings, Shivanee Ramlochan, Lise K. Journal of the Writers Project of Ghana

The Journal of the Writers Project of Ghana is a new journal from the Writers Project of Ghana which is based in Accra. The first edition has Nancy Henaku as chair and Elizabeth Johnson as Editor-in-Chief alongside Ewoenam Akaxoxo on submissions, Aisha Nelson on poetry and Jeffrey Atuobi on prose. The cover design is by Yibor Kojo Yibor.
