LitFest Harare 2023 celebrates decade

LitFest Harare 2023 is celebrating a decade of running in Harare, Zimbabwe from November 29 – December 2, 2023. The theme this year is “Words Remember: A Decade of Story.”

LitFest Harare is a literature festival founded by poet and curator Chirikure Chirikure and hosted by a dedicated team annually in Harare, Zimbabwe since 2013. The team has ensured that the Southern African country has a major literary event to look forward to annually as the year comes to an end. The tenth edition of the festival is set to be hosted in Zimbabwe’s capital city starting on November 29. Just like in previous years, those who attend will enjoy panel discussion sessions, dialogues, and performances that include poetry, theatre, and music.

Festival participants come from Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa, Italy, and other countries. They are poets, writers, academics, and others like Nomonde Sky Mlotshwa, Barbara Nkala, Rutendo Mutsamwira, Takura Zhangazha, Serpent, Tambira, Jay Watta, Doc Vikela, Taf Bob Mutumbi, Sidos, and many others. When the festival ends in Harare on December 2, there will be outreach workshops and performances in Gweru on December 4, and Bulawayo on December 6.
