I love this story. Chimamanda Adichie has been wowing audience with her latest book Americanah a love story that follows a young couple from Nigeria who face hard choices and challenges in the countries they come to call home.

The accolades have been coming from everywhere be it the US National Critics, shortlisting for the Bailey’s prize for writing and a host of others.

Well if it was to be a movie then the person to do will Kenya’s own Lupita Nyong’o. This was announced today at the Stylist Magazine‘s Stylist Book Club Inaugural Session held at the Waldorf Hilton in UK with this tweet.

We have a feeling that if this one works out then there will be less opposition to it than happened with the more recent outing of an Adichie novel.

This is the second time in recent times that a celebrity actor has grabbed the rights to a book by an African after Leonardo Dicaprio grabbed the rights for Lauren Beukes The Shining Girls.

This news makes me very happy indeed. Plus its always nice to see African women (each recognised in their own rights for various work) collaborating
