Marie NDiaye’s new novel “The Cheffe” out in October.

Marie NDiaye’s newest novel The Cheffe, published by Penguin Random House, makes its appearance on the African literary scene on October 29, 2019.

Marie NDiaye is one of the most prolific authors from the African continent with novels for children and adults, short stories, plays, and screenplays written in French. Born in France to Senegalese parents, her novel Three Strong Women (2009) won the Prix Goncourt, France’s most prestigious literary prize, the first time by a black woman. Her novel Ladivine (2013) was nominated for the Booker Prize in its year of publication. Some of the other books she has written available in English are Self-Portrait in Green (2005), and My Heart Hemmed In (2007).
