National Writers Association of Zambia launches with book fair

The National Writers Association of Zambia will launch with a book fair in Lusaka, Zambia, on Thursday, July 17, 2025.

The National Writers Association of Zambia is a newly registered association of writers, readers, and researchers with members from within Zambia and in the diaspora. The organisation hopes to promote the development of literature, provide advocacy for writers on all matters, and identify, nurture, develop, and promote young writing talent. They have an executive of:

  • Chairperson: Misheck M’hango
  • Vice Chairperson: Henry Joe Sakala
  • Secretary: Sumili Kipenda
  • Vice Secretary: Moono Nyambe
  • Treasurer: Mukubesa Kamutumwa
  • Vice Treasurer: Justin Kangwa
  • Provincial Representative – Copperbelt: Thandiwe Chisala Chibale
  • Provincial Representative – Lusaka: Ingrid Nayame
  • Provincial Representative – Central: Asimbuyu Mwangala
  • Provincial Representative – Luapula: Boyd Kalumbi

The organisation will host a launch and book fair at the Government Complex, Lusaka, Zambia, on Thursday, July 17. The full-day event will have the Southern African country’s Vice President, Mutale K. Nalumango, as a special guest. Those who attend will have the opportunity to engage with the executive team and purchase books on display.
