Prix Littéraire Prix Montluc Résistance et liberté 2025 longlist announced

The longlist for Prix Littéraire Prix Montluc Résistance et liberté 2025 was announced on Tuesday, November 26, 2024.

Prix Montluc Resistance et Liberté (English: Montluc Resistance and Freedom Prize) is awarded to an author, whether French or foreign, whose work questions current methods of fighting against oppression in all its manifestations, or whose work represents in itself an act of resistance. Some of the previous winners of the award founded by Jean-François Carenco have been Itamar Vieira Junior, Jean d’Amérique, and Kaouther Adimi.

The 2024 longlist was announced on November 26 with the following writers of African descent in the running;

  • Dire Babylone, Safiya Sinclair, Editions Buchet Chastel
  • La Symphonie atlantique, Hubert Haddad, Editions Zulma
  • Le vent a dit son nom, Mohamed Abdallah, Editions Au Diable Vauvert

The five finalists will be announced at the end of January 2025.
