Prix National Cénacle du Livre Senegal 2025 finalists were announced in Dakar on Saturday, December 6, 2025.
The Prix National du Cénacle, one of Senegal’s most prestigious literary awards, is organized by the Cénacle de la Littérature Sénégalaise, an association of Senegalese writers, critics, and academics dedicated to promoting Senegalese literature. The first winners, Tabara Niang, Maguèye Toure, and Elaz Ndongo Thioye, received a cash prize of 1,000,000 FCFA and a reissue of 100 copies of their prize-winning books. Fatimata Diallo Ba and Papa Samba Kane were the 2023 winners followed a year later by Helene Bernadette Ndong, Khalil Diallo, and Mamadou Dembélé.
For the 2025 edition, the jury—chaired by Andrée-Marie Diagne and including Waly Ba, Mamadou Ba, Serigne Seye, and Harouna Dior—met on November 16 to review submissions. They have selected the following finalists:
Fiction
- Au-delà du Futur by Samba Guisse (Éditions Ganndal Afrik, 2025)
- La Petite Maison à la Porte Bleue by Falia (Éditions Le Tamarinier, 2024)
- Les caprices de Poussine by Mamadou Samb (Éditions Afroquebec, 2025)
Poetry
- Éclosion by Seyni Seck
- L’encre des étoiles by Ousmane Tall
- Lignes de mire textes engagés by Dalla Malé Fofana
- Mes errances confinées by Omar Dabo
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Dakar on Friday, December 26, 2025.
