Nassuf Djailani,Aïcha Yatabary, Drissa Diakite, and Kadi Diarra won awards at the Rentrée Littéraire du Mali 2022 in Bamako, Mali on Saturday, May 14, 2022.
La Rentrée Littéraire du Mali (Literary Return of Mali), first held in 2008, is a festival of books, words, and ideas hosted in Bamako, Mali. It offers a platform for meetings and debates between writers from Africa and the rest of the world, students, publishers, booksellers, librarians, readers, and all those who see the book as an essential tool for progress and development. At the end of the festival, awards are handed out in several categories. In 2021, awards were handed out to Khalil Diallo, Ibrahim Lanséni Coulibaly, and Amadou Chab Touré.
For 2022, the festival with the theme “Territories and imaginaries” was attended by many of the leading names in writing in French today. They included Louis-Philippe Dalembert, Joseph Ndwaniye, Ubah Cristina Ali Farah, Diadié Dembélé, Rachid Koraichi, Khalil Diallo, Yara El-Ghadban, Kadiatou Ba, Oumou Ahmar Traoré, Sami Tchak, Birama Diakon, Sirafily Diango, Nassuf Djailani, Drissa Diakité, Youba Bathily, among others.
The festival ended with a literary awards evening dedicated to eminent researcher, intellectual and man of culture, essayist and novelist Moussa Sow who passed away in 2021 at only 68 years old. The event hosted at the Women’s Museum included a panel of tribute to Moussa Sow as well as handing out of awards in different categories. The winners were;

Special Mention: Yamen Manai (Tunisia), Bel abîme (Éditions Elyzad).
