Salon du Livre Africain de Paris 2025 with the theme “Diaspora travel(s)” will be held in the European city from March 14 – 16, 2025.
Salon du Livre Africain de Paris (English: African Book Fair in Paris) is dedicated to publishers, booksellers, libraries, research centres, and institutions representing the African publishing and cultural world. First organised by Erick Monjour in 2021, there have been subsequent editions in 2023 and 2024.
The 2025 edition with the theme “Voyage(s) en Diaspora(s)” (Google translates it to Diaspora travel(s)) returns to the French capital on Friday, March 14. There countries centred at the event at Halle des Blancs Manteaux Paris are the guest country being Cameroon and the special guest country Brazil.
It will be arguably the largest gathering of writers of African descent in living memory gathering in Paris. They will come from the home country France, guest countries Cameroon and Brazil, Cote d’Ivoire, Benin, Chad, Madagascar, Togo, DR Congo, Guinea, Senegal, United States, Burundi, Zimbabwe, Haiti, Algeria, Mauritius, and Congo.
They include Veronique Tadjo, Eugénie Dossa, Adama Ramou, Johary Ravaloson, Gaëlle Bélem, Joël Assoko, Gaël Octavia, Michèle Rakotoson, Jean-Luc Raharimanana, Henri Joël Tatissong, Sami Tchak, Maximilien Amegee, Ann Binta, Meryem Belkaïd, Timba Bema, Elise Solange Bagamboula, Lucy Mushita, Isabelle Kassi Fofana, Calixthe Beyala, Charles Binam Bikoi, Victor Bissengue, Shimmer Chinodya, Fary Ndao, Godefroy Mwanabwato, LaRéus Gangoueus (Réassi Ouabonzi), Hind Soyer, Rodney Saint-Éloi, Patrice Yengo, and many more.
Apart from the panels and readings, Le Grand Prix Afrique (for French-language writers), formerly known as the Grand Prix littéraire d’Afrique noire, will be handed out. Another award called Le Prix du Beau Livre Africain (English: The African Book Prize of the Maison de l’Afrique) awarded to beautiful books on Africa (art, culture, architecture, design, photos, cuisine, fashion…), published in Africa, Europe and the rest of the world in 2023 and 2024 will also be awarded.
