Sitawa Namwalie speaks on displacement at Goethe Nairobi

Syria is on fire. Between the Syrian government and the terror group ISIS, a human crisis has hit the world, resulting in one of the biggest tragedies of displacement in recent memory. One of the countries offering refuge to the displaced Syrians is Germany.

IMG-20160324-WA0009Renowned German author Tanja Dückers will be the first guest expected to discuss the refugee crisis and its impact on Germany in a series of discussions that will continue for the next four months, themed Displacement & Refuge. In light of recent occurrences in Cologne, the conversation will seek to discuss the theme of the social contract between those who seek refuge and those who offer it.

Ms. Dückers will be in conversation with poet and writer Sitawa Namwalie at the Goethe Nairobi on Thursday 31st March 2016 at 6-8pm. They will be moderated by Saturday Nation columnist and novelist Zukiswa Wanner.
