The Tanzania International Book Fair 2025 will be held under the theme “Inspiring Readers, Shaping Futures” in Dar es Salaam from November 21 to 26, 2025.
The Publishers’ Association of Tanzania (PATA) was established as a forum for discussion and development by Tanzanian publishers, following a recommendation from a seminar on the future of indigenous publishing in Africa in 1987. It promotes Tanzania’s book industry by supporting publishers, booksellers, and authors with activities like the Tanzania International Book Fair and initiatives like the National Book Week to promote reading. They also collaborate on projects to advance digital publishing in the country.
This 34th edition of the fair, organized by the Publishers’ Association of Tanzania (PATA), will serve as a central meeting place for authors, educators, and the public. The event at the National Library will showcase innovations, including digital storytelling platforms, and will feature a full schedule of activities such as author signings and seminars. Featured authors will include Christopher Liundi, Blandina Lucas, Shabaan Maulid, and Amri Abdallah, all of whom are published by Mkuki Na Nyota.
The fair welcomes a diverse audience, including publishers, bookstore owners, booksellers, authors, students from all levels, educational institutions, and the general public.
