Tochukwu Emmanuel Okafor is a speaker at Nigerian World Speech Day celebrations.
Tochukwu Emmanuel Okafor isn’t a new names to the readers of this blog. The Nigerian electrical engineer came to our attention when he was longlisted for last year’s Short Story Day Africa cycle that was eventually won by Sibongile Fischer. He was also one of the writers who was selected to be mentored in the Writivism anthology program earlier this year. His work has also featured in Warscapes , Open Road Review, Litro Magazine, Juked, Kweli Journal, Aerodrome, The Bombay Review, Bakwa Magazine, The Kalahari Review.
It looks that his work has gotten a new gig in Lagos for this month. He is a scheduled speaker for World Speech Day celebrations to be held in Lagos on March 15, 2017. World Speech Day for novices like myself harnesses the wisdom of crowds to uncover remarkable ideas from unexpected voices. The vision is to reach out to #unexpectedvoices, at thousands of speaking events, worldwide, on a single day. From #unexpectedvoices come remarkable ideas. One voice can change everything. The loose theme for World Speech Day’s speeches is: “Thoughts For a Better World.” For more information about the events in Lagos click here.
