Trevor Noah’s 3 million dollar book deal

The Daily Show host Trevor Noah has penned a 3 million dollar book deal with Spiegel & Grau an imprint of Random House.

We all love Trevor Noah at here JamesMurua.com; this happened when we encountered his Daywalker DVD in 2011. Subsequent DVDs Crazy Normal and That’s Racist ensured that we followed his progress around the world with almost stalkerish zeal. This followed with him being given the lead role at The Daily Show following in the footsteps of Jon Stewart.

Our blatant #NoHomo adoration of the South African comedian has “born fruit” as he announced that he had landed a deal for his first book with Spiegel & Grau an imprint of Random House on Tuesday. The book which which is due in November is a collection of personal essays “about growing up in during the last gasps of apartheid and the tumultuous days of freedom that came with its demise. The book is said to be written in the “tradition” of humorist and best-selling author .

Speaking in a news release, Noah, 31, said, “I couldn’t find a good book about myself so I decided to write one. And just like me this book doesn’t have an appendix.”

Spiegel & Grau Executive Editor Chris Jackson said, “Trevor Noah is a naturally brilliant storyteller — funny and light on his feet, but with moments of true depth and emotional resonance. He has a remarkable tale to tell. We’re very excited to bring Trevor’s vivid and original voice to readers in this book about the power and necessity of laughter even — or especially — in the face of the world’s absurdities and injustices.”

I can’t wait to get a hold of this book. I hope he will finally tell us the story with his appendix.
