Writer Websites

Websites of African and Black Writers and Poets

As part of our mission to archive the African and Black literary landscape, we begin the important task of listing writers and poets with professional websites.

The new year often brings renewed focus for writers and poets—a determination to submit to more publications, complete manuscripts, and fully embrace their creative titles.

A key, yet sometimes overlooked, aspect of a writing career is establishing a professional online presence. While social media handles are free and useful, a dedicated website offers far more. It serves as a controlled, central hub to showcase your portfolio, connect directly with readers through email lists, promote your work, and manage sales and events—all independent of shifting social media algorithms. A website builds credibility, provides a stable platform for promotion, and opens avenues for direct monetization.

Many African and Black writers have already embraced this path. Below is a list of those who have built their own online homes. This is NOT a comprehensive list, but a growing collection we have compiled recently. We will update it as we discover new sites.

If you are a writer or poet of African descent with a website, please share it with us for inclusion.
