Weltwortreisende (World Word Travellers) 2025, with the theme “light impermeability,” will be hosted in Graz, Austria, from October 16 – 18, 2025.
Weltwortreisende (World Word Travellers) is a literary festival organised by Fiston Mwanza Mujila and Robert Reithofer in Graz, Austria, since 2021. It aims to introduce great black voices in literature who, despite their quality, are too little known, as part of the Transnational Literature Days for the first time in Graz. It has hosted readings, workshops, panels, and more in the European capital.
The fifth edition of the festival returns with the theme “light impermeability”, which is drawn from Martinique-born poet and philosopher Édouard Glissant’s work ‘Poétique de la Relation’. Over the three days, guests will be treated to readings, panel discussions, and more.
Some of the featured guests will be Alain Mabanckou (Republic of Congo/France), Sulaiman Addonia (Eritrea/Great Britain), Radna Fabias (Curaçao/Netherlands), Volha Hapeyeva (Belarus), Geetanjali Shree (India), and Wambui Waldhauser (Kenya/Austria).
The festival is organized by Forum Stadtpark and ISOP in cooperation with the Afro-Asian Institute Graz, Tint Journal, Institut Français d’Autriche, Institute of Romance Studies, and Nederlands Letterenfonds.
