African Caribbean Writers' Festival Australia

African Caribbean Writers’ Festival Australia for September 27

The African Caribbean Writers’ Festival Australia, with the theme “How We Tell Our Stories,” will be hosted in Sydney on Saturday, September 27, 2025.

The African Caribbean Writers’ Festival Australia was founded to centre and celebrate the profound stories of Africa and the Caribbean diaspora while also highlighting and empowering the voices of African and Caribbean writers in Australia. The two founders, Maggie Wairimu Hari and Pardina Samson-Fessal, created it as a vibrant celebration, dedicated to illuminating the powerful stories that have shaped and continue to resonate through generations.

This first edition will be hosted at 101 William St Darlinghurst in Sydney on September 27 from 12 – 6 pm. It will feature poets, novelists, visual artists, spoken word artists, and journalists for author panels, Poetry Performances, and a quiz that will test your knowledge of African and Caribbean literature. The guests will include Mawunyo Gbogbo, Gloria Tabi-Binks, Rataj Abdullah, Monette Banda, Olajoke Amosun, Emmanuel Asante, Maggie Wairimu Hari, and Pardina Samson-Fessale.
