The Hummingbird Journal

The Hummingbird Journal is a digital literary and arts journal based in Ghana, dedicated to amplifying the voices of Ghanaian and African writers and artists. It publishes a range of work, including poetry, prose, creative nonfiction, and art, with a focus on bold, original narratives that challenge stereotypes and shift perspectives.
The first edition, published in November 2025, features fiction, nonfiction, and poetry by Benjamin Cyril Arthur, Ago Serwaa, Scott Frost, Denoo Edinam Yawo (Poetic Siren), Emmanuel Papa Quansah, and Isabella Aduah.
Transition

Transition is a forum for the freshest, most compelling ideas from and about the black world. Since its founding in 1961 in Uganda, the magazine has kept pace with the rapid transformation of the African Diaspora and has remained a leading forum of intellectual debate.

Fiyah

Fiyah Magazine of Black Speculative Fiction is an American-based magazine of Black speculative fiction. Also referred to as FIYAH, the magazine was announced in September 2016, inspired among others by the 1920s experimental periodical FIRE! created by Wallace Thurman.
The latest edition was edited by Eden Royce and Shakeema Smalls with contributions from Audrey T.
