The finalists of Prix Voix d’Afriques 2025 were announced by the jury chair, Mohamed Mbougar Sarr, on Saturday, October 18, 2025.
Voix d’Afriques (English: Voices of Africa) is a literary prize intended to bring out young French-language authors from the African continent. Initiated by JC Lattès, RFI, and the Cité Internationale des Arts in 2020, it is aimed at supporting and highlighting new African literary voices reflecting the situation of a country, political, economic, or social news, or more intimate texts. Previous winners have been Nincemon Fallé, Ernis, Fann Attiki, and Yaya Diomandé.
The 2025 jury is comprised of president Mohamed Mbougar Sarr alongside Catherine Fruchon-Toussaint, RFI journalist Bénédicte Alliot, Cité Internationale director Véronique Cardi, JC Lattès editions president Anne-Sophie Stefanini, deputy editorial director of L’Obs Grégoire Leménager, author Hemley Boum, Librairie Coiffard in Nantes Stéphanie Hanet, writer, journalist, and festival director Bios Diallo. journalist and writer Venance Konan, academic Hanane Essaydi, and journalist Fatimata Wane-Sagna.
The jury president, Mohamed Mbougar Sarr, announced the finalists, saluting the strength and uniqueness of their texts, a way to embrace the world and intimacy, politics and family, to take a different look at love and revolution, the fights of yesterday and today.
They are;
- Murmures de Lome, Jules Olamide
- Les Ombres de Kongolo, El Mata Dor Paulin
- La Revolte des oublies, Mariam Ines Outtara
- Le Nom de ma Mere, Pascal Boroto
- Le Pays Qui te Vomit, Elolo Djiakpo
The winner will be announced on March 18, 2026.
